“I didn’t feel as an outsider, but I think the thing with me was I didn’t negate my background of coming from streetwear or being really into rap music”
-Matthew Williams, 1017 ALYX 9SM designer.

Designed by Matthew Williams, Alyx could be considered one of the most inspiring Street Wear brands on the scene right now. Named after the two years old children of Williams and inspired by the style of his wife, Jennifer Williams, Alyx reached the success quite easily thanks to its style, that Williams like to call “Modern classic.” The subculture influence is clear to see, as the designer was deeply influenced by the skate and rap culture of California, but also by Berlin’s techno music.

Fast fashion brands, such as Pretty Little Things, tried to recreate a plastic model of the belt, that is becoming a big trend that goes along with cargo trousers or cargo skirts.
